As we move through our daily lives, let us be mindful of the invisible suffering in our midst, including those struggling with acute or chronic mental health challenges. Today we’re reflecting on #suffering as our spiritual practice for #Lent. Thanks to @newscpr for their ongoing coverage on access to mental health care in Colorado. #uulent #firstuniversalistdenver

First Universalist Church of Denver, 2019 Annual Stewardship Drive Kickoff
As the Winter Solstice approaches, the blue light has started appearing in our Sanctuary thanks to our Solstice Window, which tracks solar events. Join us December 23 as we celebrate the Returning of the Light.
On September 30, we participated in the Concert Across America to End Gun Violence as part of our Sunday service. In this clip, guest speaker Reverend Ellen Johnson-Fay introduces Emily Beer, Sarah Libert (keyboard), and John Hubert (piano) performing "Shine." "Shine" was written Stoneman Douglas High School students Sawyer Garrity & Andrea Peña in response to the mass shooting there. The song is dedicated to all those lost, injured, and affected by the tragic shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on February 14th, 2018 and is being sung America this week as part of the Concert Across America to end Gun Violence.
We celebrated the sun twice over in June, when our new solar power system was officially turned on and when we were first able to use our new Solstice tracking light feature. Thanks to the power of the sun, we are able to enjoy much natural light in our new building, and even better, we are "Carbon Positive," generating more power than we use.
